Digging Through Yesterday
I was clearing some old mails out of my inbox today and I came across one mail in particular titled ‘profile’. I couldn’t for the life of me figure out what it was and when I opened the attachment I found a written document of myself.
It was strange at first because I didn’t know why I had written it. Then I realized that I had done this as part of an excercise when I took part in the Young Creative Challenge last year in Pattaya. The excercise required everyone taking part to express an honest opinion of themselves, while stating their interests in one A4 document. This is what I wrote and reading it after one year of writing it, I must say I had quite a laugh… Enjoy…
In a time that is known as ‘TODAY’ when all the world is focused on being a part of the ‘21st CENTURY’, there was one boy who stood tall… and thin, about 5”9 and approximately 120lbs.
That boy… is me, Brandon Ingram. First a disturbed child, then a typically troubled teen and now a more than confused young man [note: the word adult has been omitted here for obvious reasons].
Bernard Shaw once wrote: “There are two tragedies in life. One is to loose your heart’s desire. The other is to gain it.” Personally I think Mr. Shaw is a lunatic but I just had to write that down so that you might be conscious of the fact that I am well read… to a certain degree anyway.
My opinion of Mr. Shaw aside, I am a writer by profession and I’ll have you know that I can and will repeat that sentence in Spanish – ‘y soy escritor por la profession’
To speak more of myself… [this is something I unashamedly enjoy doing] I’ve studied and can perform 9 different dance styles; I am also an actor, a singer, a choreographer, a counselor, a psychic, an ex-TV show presenter and I can speak Hindi!!!
Well that’s me in a nutshell and I’d really rather not elaborate on the facts mentioned above. Yet the key thing to know about me here is that I am a young professional who is extremely fascinated by the world of advertising.
I believe that we learn something new everyday of our lives and I believe that no man or woman is either too young or too old to learn more…
Advertising is my life now… and I simply want to learn more about what this life is all about.
Yours most hopelessly,
Brandon Ingram.
